Essential Oils are highly concentrated and because of that you must blend them with what is known as a Carrier.  Failure to blend Essential Oils could result in burning of the skin or other serious problems.

Carriers can be benign oils such as Olive oil, Sweet Almond oil, or Jojoba oil.  They can also be unscented soap, shampoo, bath products, or even water.  On the CARRIERS page you will see the usual Carriers listed and information will be given on each one.

After blending your Essential Oils you must store the product that you have made.  All oil blends should be stored in dark glass containers.  Exposure to light will damage the oils.  You must use glass because many of the oils are acidic and will "melt" plastic containers.  If you are making solid soap you may wrap the bar in plastic or store it in a plastic zipper bag.  You want to do this to keep the scent fresh.  Shampoo and liquid soap products can be stored in heavy, thick plastic bottles.  Do not use thin plastic containers.  Think about your shampoo bottle with your store-bought shampoo inside.  That is the thickness you will need.

Remember to store your essential oil products in a cool, dark place.
